Term 3 & 4, 2022
Calling all Garin students who would like to continue their journey of faith within the Catholic community through the sacraments of Initiation:
Reconciliation, Confirmation & First Holy Communion
As part of 91°µÍø’s Sacramental Programme we have combined with Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Richmond to offer preparation for the sacraments of Reconciliation, Confirmation and First Holy Communion over a 2-year cycle. This term we begin with Reconciliation, then Confirmation in Term 4. First Holy Communion will follow in Term 1 of 2023. Dates and times are as follows:
First Reconciliation:
- Preparation Sessions: Sunday 28th August, 4th September (Father’s Day) 11th September and 18th September 2022. Time: 9.30 – 11 am each Sunday with morning tea to follow.
- The Sacrament of Reconciliation will take place on Sunday 25th September at 2 pm.
→ Please note that due to the timing of the available weekends, some of the catechesis (teaching) for Confirmation will be introduced alongside the content for Reconciliation.
Confirmation:
- Preparation Sessions: Sunday 30th October and 6th November (and introduced earlier in the Programme). Time: 9.30 – 11 am each Sunday with morning tea to follow.
- A practice for the sacrament will take place on Saturday 12th November, with the time to be advised.
- The Sacrament of Confirmation will take place on Sunday 13th November with the Archbishop attending.
→ Please note that due to the Archbishop’s schedule, the Sacrament of Confirmation may be a joint celebration with candidates from across other parishes, and the venue is still to be confirmed.
First Holy Communion will most likely take place in Term 1 of 2023.
